If you don't know just how amazing and well-respected Redken is then here's a little overview...
Founded in 1960, the company was built off the inspiration of an entrepreneurial American actress called Paula Kent.
She was hugely sensitive to a lot of the products that hairdressers and makeup artists would use on her - being an actress, this was just a daily occurance!
Paula got frustrated that nobody could explain why these products were irritating her so sought to work with hair industry experts to create her own range, that were much more gentle.
She began working on three products and an education programme about the chemistry of hair and skin. All this was with her hairdresser Jheri Redding (hence the name 'REDKEN') and by 1980's, it was a huge global brand.
In 1993, L'Oreal purchased Redken and today they have their products in over 50 countries at all professional salons though their headquarters resides in the capital of the world: NYC.
Read Corinna Harrod's [owner of Beautnik.com] review on her favourite Redken product here:
Colour Extend from Redken is the one shampoo and conditioner that consistently keeps my hair looking bright, smooth and non-frizzy. I've been using it for the past 8 months - a recommendation from my colourist as reasonably priced alternative to Kerastase and I will continue to use it for the foreseeable future.
With most shampoos and conditioners I've used, even the expensive ones, I find I see and feel the benefit for the first week or so and then the frizzy, fried look returns and I need to use other treatments to keep it in reasonable condition. I've also been using less and less of the L'Oreal Expert Silver shampoo - my go-to product for keeping my blonde as white as possible a month or so after having my colour done.
At £12.50 for the shampoo and £13.75 for the conditioner it's hardly bank-breaking for haircare products that really work and will last you two months or so depending on how often you wash your hair.
